K-9 Assisted Therapy
Unconditionally loving, nonjudgmental, & friendly are only some of the qualities that make dogs great companions.
K-9 Assisted Therapy is about your interaction with the therapy dog. Therapy dogs are trained to remain calm and attuned to their environment. They are obedient, safe, and easy to bond with. K-9 assisted therapy has been vastly researched and is used extensively for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression, anxiety, and stress reduction. Studies show an increase of Oxytocin in the blood (also known as the bonding hormone) after only five minutes of petting a dog.
